Zach Van Bourke is a deuteragonist in Unaccompanied Minors. He is a gullible airport attendant who is left in charge of Spencer Davenport and his sister Katherine.
When he brings them to the unaccompanied minors room, the siblings immediately consider the place a chaotic dump and want to leave, but he doesn't really see it the way they do. When he tries to get everyone's attention, the kids attack him, and in the confusion, Spencer and four other kids (Grace Conrad, Donna Malone, Charlie Goldfinch, and Beef Wellington) escape. They eventually get caught and returned to the UM room, where Zach is ordered to keep an eye on them by Oliver Porter. The kids escape again with a little trickery, and Zach assists Mr. Porter in searching for the kids. He eventually stands up to his resentful boss, and later helps to decorate the airport for Christmas.
